Master Man Seo

As a lifelong student of Martial Arts, Master Seo's experience spans over 3 decades. He began training at a traditional dojang in Seoul, Korea at the age of 5. By the age of 11 he was competing on a national level. Master Seo continued to compete for the next 12 years. In 1991 he was admitted to Lila Technical High School for Martial Arts. Master Seo credits Tae Kwon Do with providing the focus and discipline to allow him to balance his school years with the intensity of elite competition team training.

Upon graduating high school, Master Seo was accepted into Yong-In University, Seoul Korea in 1994. Yong-In University is the premier institution for Korean athletes and is accredited to establishing the first collegiate Tae Kwon Do program in the world. Renowned for its high standards of excellence in Martial Arts, it has played a leading role in developing new techniques and scientific research in Tae Kwon Do. Master Seo’s major in Physical Education of Tae Kwon Do set the path to his love and dedication for teaching. Master Seo was selected for the Korean Tigers Professional Demonstration Team in his freshman year at Yong-In University. The Korean Tigers are an international touring performance group that provides exhibitions for Martial Arts schools and events throughout the world.

As a member of the Korean Tiger Team, Master Seo traveled and performed at major Tae Kwon Do tournaments and events, including the 1994 U.S. Open at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. During his 5 year tenure as a Korean Tiger, Master Seo served as trainer, coach and team captain from 1997-1999. The rigorous schedule and extensive travel of the Korean Tigers gave Master Seo the opportunity to experience life in the United States. After multiple demonstrations, seminars and interim teaching positions throughout the country, he made the permanent move to America Thanksgiving Day 1999.

For the following 11 years, Master Seo taught at Martial Arts schools in New Mexico, Georgia and North Carolina where he designed the curriculum, served as Head Master and created new programs. In July 2010 Master Seo opened Flying Tiger Martial Arts in Garner, North Carolina fulfilling a lifelong dream of owning his own Dojang.
